How Contribution Tracking Actually Works

We know "tracking contributions at market rates" sounds complex. Here's exactly how it works in practice:

1

Log Your Hours Weekly

Every Friday, team members log their hours via a simple form. You describe what you worked on, how many hours, and which tasks you completed.

Example: Maria's Week 8 Entry
• Business planning: 12 hrs
• Team meetings: 5 hrs
• Blockchain research: 8 hrs
• Partnership calls: 6 hrs
Total: 31 hours this week
2

Team Review & Approval

All team members can see everyone's logged hours. The team lead reviews and approves (usually within 24 hours). If something looks off, they can discuss before approval.

James approved Maria's 31 hours on Saturday morning
"Looks good! Great progress on the blockchain research. Those partnership calls with Woolworths are paying off."
3

Market Rate Applied Automatically

Once approved, your hours are multiplied by your role's Sydney market rate. These rates are based on Seek.com.au, LinkedIn Salary Insights, and Hays Salary Guide.

Maria's Calculation (Project Lead role):
• 31 hours × $85/hour = $2,635 value created this week
Market rate range for Project Lead with blockchain expertise: $85-95/hr in Sydney (mid-point used)
4

Equity Recalculated Instantly

Your equity percentage updates in real-time based on your contributions versus total team contributions. You can see your equity grow as you contribute.

Maria's Equity After Week 8:
• Her total value: $31,800 (280 hours × $85 + $8K other contributions)
• Team total value: $99,250
• Her share: $31,800 ÷ $99,250 = 32.0% of contributor pool
• Contributor pool is 40% of business
• Maria's business equity: 32.0% × 40% = 12.8%
Note: The remaining 60% is reserved for investors (30%), founding team (20%), and advisor pool (10%)

Non-Time Contributions Also Count

Cash, equipment, IP, connections, and other resources are valued and added to your contribution total.

Examples from this project:
• Maria: $8,000 (used personal funds for blockchain architecture design)
• Michael: $5,000 (purchased initial equipment for BSF facility)
• Sarah: $2,000 (paid for brand design and marketing materials)
All non-time contributions require receipts and team approval
